our visit to the riverside museum

lilah with nellie, fay, and lily on the model subway

working very hard indeed

working... no, not working here!

modelling

can someone please

tell me whywhenwherehow

lilah learned modelling poses?

or am i going to have to find you myself?

collecting autumn leaves

it was such a beautiful autumn day

lilah rode her bike 2 miles (!!!) to the botanic gardens
and after a well deserved ice cream
(scottish people eat ice cream no matter what the weather is like)
(seriously)

anyway, after a while
lilah ran towards a particularly beautiful tree
which was in its own garden bed
just on the other side of a huge section of grass

and its garden bed was a bit muddy
as it had been raining
(crazy, right?)
the day before and the day before and the day before

and before she knew it,
lilah was horizontal in the air
and flat on her back in the mud

this is after removing her whole "outer" layer of clothing

for the record:
lilah = not yet too keen on mud

it's scary
and cold

but we took a taxi home
and had a hot bath

and our magical washing machine took care of all the dirt on all the clothes

and the shoes, too!

fast balloons

sometimes

just sometimes

it's a bit windy in glasgow

(usually we're sipping piña coladas on the beach)

tragedy

the world lost a beautiful young boy today
Marco Simoncelli
(tipped to be the next world champion)
(and best friends with current world champion Valentino Rossi)
suffered fatal injuries from a crash
during the Malaysian Grand Prix
he was only 24

our thoughts go out to his family, friends, and fans
and especially to The Doctor

you will be greatly missed

6 October 2011

lunch at fifi and ally's

lilah had the biggest bowl of macaroni and cheese in the whole world
(dad helped her eat it)

birthday cupcake
crazy eyes

sidenote: have you ever noticed how kids don't bother eating the cake itself... they just concern themselves with the frosting.  in this case, the frosting was bigger than the cake, so i think lilah got the better deal.

on our walk into town

in glasgow, bakers leave their deliveries tied to the door

sounds like sandwiches!

crossing the motorway
(the domed building in the background on the right is the Mitchell Library)

oh yeah...

our neighbour's garden

our downstairs neighbour has a green thumb
and flowers bloom in his garden

his flowers are just pretty enough to be in the picture with lilah

you'd think they were related...

last week we played hookey

it felt like the first day of autumn,
so lilah wore a red autumn sweater

Lilah says toe-MAY-toe

just thought this was worthy of notation.

it occurs in everyday speech now.  as if it were perfectly normal.

rehearsing for the future?
