dad-dy!

oh.  by the way.  she's reading that book.
and doing the signs for the pictures.

20 May 2009

at home with her friends

recovering from a fever (103.6!).  but still looking as cute as ever.  she's been drinking loads of water, and eating here and there.  the doctor says she's the best patient she has ever seen!  such a good lilah.  even when she's sick.

hiding

where's lilah?

Culzean Castle

see, the thing was, lilah was asleep both times we walked by.  so we didn't go in.  but we walked up to the wall, and got a good view anyway.

on our way to the castle

we found the night garden and looked for iggle piggle

instead we found this Monkey House

which was surprising not only to us.  apparently, there are only a few surviving pagodas in the UK and no others in Scotland.  the Kennedy family who lived here kept fancy birds and monkeys here, and would come on good days up to the tower to look out across the water to see what they could see.

this is a replica of the old staircase, but it is still very pretty.

hey look, lilah, a playground!

going down the bat-slide...

weeeeeee!!!

checking out the beach with zuzu

welcome to Culzean Castle

arriving in Maidens.  we parked on the beach to escape the extortionate National Trust parking fees.  which meant a wee walk to the Castle grounds...

that island there is Arran.  i promise, we're in Scotland.  i know, i know, you don't believe me because there's not a cloud in the sky.

it's really cold, but you can get some pretty rocks in there!

holy bmozwe, a swan in the ocean?

time to go to sleep, iggle piggle

what a lovely day.

down by the sea(loch)side,

there was some water.  there was a Thomas.  there was an Honor.

down by the sea(loch)side,

there was a doggie.  his name was Bertie.  and he was big.

teaching amy about the echo

walking from the station house (amy and rupert's) to the loch (gairloch), through a tunnel.  and you know what happens in tunnels...

visit to the farm 3: family portrait

from left:  lauren, steven, lilah, poppa zuzu.

as if you couldn't tell...

visit to a farm 2: this little piggie

hmm... what's that?

log-pig.  boy do they make funny noises.

visiting a local farm 1: the highland cows

the coo's are digging the sunshine (and so are we).  that girl in the back has just been licking her shoulder.  tried to catch that on film, but she saw me.

see?  she's camera obsessed!  silly coo.  cameras are for people.

aeroplane: a short-lived game

can you see the picture of Tino on the wall?  he's lilah's true friend.

we're not playing this game anymore, though.

for health reasons it was a one-off.

we love you.

3 May 2009

going out. in charge of the purse.

forgive the photography.  notice the 'tude.

she's got the goods: the headband, the dog-purse (thanks alison from years and years ago!), the dress from ninny... she's in charge.  and she knows it.

mo-wee ta-tawr (more guitar)

ahh... she put the headband on herself.

i'm with you, lilah, i can never decide whether to play music or eat.  these are the tough decisions.
