a long time coming

good morning, and happy april.

ah, what can i say... we've been busy for the past 8 months.

we've not been neglecting you.  never think that.

we have been working diligently at re-establishing normalcy after a minor shockwave split apart the tri-vectum that is the parfery-gerig clan... that's right.  we moved countries.  and only 2 of us came over together.

then we had to wait and watch as our right arm sat, trapped, behind bars in the relentless cold for what was to become one of the coldest winters in 50 years... and we waited and waited for papers to get filed and delivered, for the privatized postal system that Thatcher severely fucked up to deliver letters as it was expected to (didn't happen), for trains to leave and return on time, for extortionate medicals and mundane interviews, until one day, a letter arrived to say that yes, Steven Parfery has proved his worth and paid his dues and can now enter the USA as a Green Card holding resident.

and then we had to all remember what it was like to be a family together.  for 7 months is a long time to be a single mother, and to be a bachelor... and the two are not really related on any level...  but, as the good book says, the two of us are stubborn enough to see through the rough bits, and we know that we will come out the other side stronger and better if we work it out.

but wait... I'm getting ahead of myself...  you know the story ends well (so far), but you don't know yet what happened in between.  grant me a bit of freedom to play with your sense of time, and i'll indulge you with a thoroughly pictorial history of Lovely Lilah of Loch Lomond's transformation from young child to a true blue California girl.

(it's good to be back.  we've missed you.)
